Our Scratch British Rums
Our rums are made from scratch in Hertfordshire, England. We use British refined molasses and sustainable local ingredients wherever possible. We run a long, slow ferment, which helps develop and build a complex flavour profile. Double distilled in our copper pot still, we only bottle the finest cuts, the hearts. No added sugar, spices or naughty colourings.
Toffee, rich fudge and vanilla notes, our aged rum with its divinely complex palette of sweet and spice, was the first British rum to have won an award in the IWSC aged category. A blend of three years in an ex-bourbon cask and two years in new oak casks, this indulgent spirit has been impressing rum drinkers from its release. This is a rum for when you want to spoil yourself.
If a gin and tonic is your go-to drink, and you fancy exploring something new, we cannot suggest more our unique botanical rum for a refreshingly different drink. Made with a blend of foraged British botanicals, our aromatic and fruity rum is loaded with notes of grapefruit, vanilla and coconut. Just add to some tonic water with a slice of orange.
Our award winning golden rum, whether drunk neat or in a cocktail, sings rich caramel notes complimented by a slight hint of toffee apples along with a cinnamon finish. With its interplay of warming sweet and woody flavours, this is a versatile spirit. Enjoy a rum that has been handcrafted, distilled properly with no added sugars or flavourings.
The first ever British rum to be listed by Berry Bros & Rudd in its 320+ year history
“I am eternally seeking distillers who are not only capable of producing the highest quality drinks, but doing so in the right way, and for the right reasons. Doug Miller and his team at Scratch are assuredly worthy of their place amongst the pantheon of remarkable rum producers we have welcomed over the centuries.”
